Teen Mom Recap - 7/24

Another week, another episode.

Farrah-
No ugly cry faces this week. Believe me I was disappointed and elated all at once. Debs is still visiting, and looking more zombie-like than ever. Farrah, Debra and Sophia go out to eat. The conversation is painful and awkward, as normal. Farrah can’t help but be rude to her, and Debs has to use that condescending baby voice 24/7. Debs tells Farrah how she’ll miss them and wants to visit more once Farrah is more settled in with school. She does drop a bomb though- she tells Farrah she wants to also move down to Florida eventually. I almost choked on the icecream I was eating at that point. Eye rolling followed. Farrah goes on a date this episode as well, with a pretty average looking dude (by that I mean not like the Jersey shore reject from before) named Daniel. Their conversation is almost painful. She tries to be too cutesy and he tries to impress. Okay, I might be exaggerating  a bit, but I wanted to punch them both- him for agreeing to take her out and her for well…being Farrah. Then after a few days of not contacting her, they decide to go horse riding. That means Farrah leaves Sophia in the care of Debra. Does anyone remember the nail polish and weewee incident? I DO. Stitch, the dog, by the way was nowhere this episode. Probably drinking cranberry juice and still trying to pee right. Well, they horseback ride. She wears a dress and a fringed vest. Both just awful decisions. Daniel and Farrah have a little kiss on the horses. Eww.

Amber-
Two months at the spa (*rehab) center Amber decides it’s time to bounce. She meets with some of the councelors a few times before she leaves to discuss going back to the real world. Amber goes on about how she isn’t sure how everyone will handle the new her. The one that still yells I guess? She meets with another esthetician at the spa where they talk about the top things she needs to do when she gets home- get her license and find a new home for her, Gary and Leah. Yikes! Red flag, danger Will Robinson Danger, do not collect….you get the idea! Oddly enough Kriss Angel was missing from this episode. Amber’s mother cleans up her whole house for her before she returns. When Leah finally comes over to see Amber, she almost doesn’t seem that excited. Amber gives her a lot of random gifts- water bottle, huge baseball hat, socks and a weird giant pink costume jewelry necklace. Leah loved the necklace at least, a little princess for sure! Gary admits to Amber’s mom that he’s really not sure what’s going to happen with them.

Maci-
The preschool debate continues. Bentley kinda sorta throws a fake crying fit about going. Maci asks him if he’s a momma’s boy, to which he replies yes and she tells him that’s why he’s got to go! It was adorable and he is just the cutest kid. He almost starts crying when she drops him off, but quickly gets over it. Maci is then seen peaking thru the classroom windows to make sure he’s okay. Maci then gets a call from Ryan who says he can’t make it to preschool to pick up Bentley because he’s stuck still driving, from his girlfriend’s house. Now I love his lady, Dalis, but Kyle made a good point- if you know how far away you are, you have to leave with plenty of time to pick up your child. Maci and Kyle get Bentley, and she kind of gives a little demeaning comment to the ladies at the front desk about how go figure Ryan couldn’t make it. Bentley asks right away where his dad is. Maci goes on a bit how she or Jen (Ryan’s mom) always pick up his mess, how he has no job and still lives at home. When Ryan eventually picks him up Bentley has a cute picture for him. Ryan asks Bentley what he did at preschool today; Bentley tells him he played with the kids. Ryan asks then if he didn’t learn anything, Bentley tells him he played. So Ryan says they’re going to his house, and the little cutie Bentley tells him that’s not his house it’s Mimi’s. High-five Bentley! When Ryan gets to Mimi’s they discuss preschool. Jen and Larry can’t figure out why Maci wouldn’t want to spend time with Bentley and would want him in preschool…no I’m not making that up. They don’t get it either. Then Jen suggests Ryan get working on some legal papers for 50/50 custody.

Catelynn-
After finally just graduating high school, the next big move would be college, but Cate starts dragging her feet a bit. She’s worried it will be hard to balance school and work. To that Tyler stepped up on his soap box and went on about how lots of people work and go to college, single moms do both, less than a month before classes, blah blah.. I think it’s only natural she’s having some fears, school is a big deal. So is deciding what you will do for the rest of your life at 18- and Catelynn was torn between teaching and an adoption counselor. It’s all understandable. Tyler takes his mom out to a salon to make her more hip, the perm had to go! While there he tells her about Cate. She tells Tyler that maybe Cate thinks he’s being too pushy and like a father. Tyler admits that if Catelynn didn’t go to school he’d probably stop being with her. I thought that was pretty crappy. After the salon, Ty’s mom looks great! Ty and Cate talk it out a bit. She tells him how she’s feeling; he makes sure he’s not being too fatherly. It wraps up with her making an appointment to talk to someone about financial aide.

Teen Mom Recap - 7/17/2012

Hello ladies and gentleman!
It’s been quite awhile, allow me to apologize for that. Life has taken over it  seems. Barely giving me a chance to even enjoy my bubble bath and Netflix episodes of Dawson’s Creek lately! I know, I know- boo hoo. But it IS rough- the house, new job, moving officially, new puppy, etc.. keep me more than busy.
However, I don’t like to disappoint! So it’s time to at the very least start my Teen Mom Recaps up! I’m sure Josh and Amy will enjoy not having to hear me yell about it to the TV/them constantly now.

Farrah-
Has anyone missed the high pitched squeal and cry face? I sure did. Well last night we see Farrah’s sister Ashley come to visit in Florida. As well as Debs. Before Debs arrives, Farrah and Ashley discuss basically how much her visit will probably suck. They also buy some Yo Gabba Gabba looking wig to make Debra wear- which they later tell her is for fun. Really ladies? I thought it was hilarious, but I am also smarter than that and know you did it to torture ol’ Debs a bit. Bravo! Farrah and Ashley go out to run some errands, when they return Debs had fallen asleep while watching Sophia! Which means Soph got into some red nail polish. We can assume this means it was just all over her and the floor- NOPE! She also painted their French Bulldog, Stitch. And I mean PAINTED. She painted his head, back, tummy….and his peepee. I’m not even kidding. I’m not a vet, but that can’t be good and has UTI written all over it! Rightfully so, Farrah flipped on Debs (did everyone see that? I just kind of was on Farrah’s side). They try to make things better by all going to dinner later. That ended about as well as the dog’s weewee. Farrah and Ashley tell their mother that they are messed up because of her. Ashley calls her a ‘Satanic psycho bitch.’ I’m not one to disagree, but at a restaurant? Yikes. Eventually, Soph is left with Debs the absent minded babysitter again while Farrah and Ashley go out to discuss how Farrah wants a better mother/daughter relationship with Sophia than she has. Good luck!

Catelynn-
This episode didn’t have too much with Catelynn, other than I really liked her shirt she wore to work. Butchman has been living with Tyler and Catelynn, however due to it being a trailer park they required a background check for Butch to live with them (who knew?). Butch hears back that due to his record, he can’t live there and has to meet his 6 months parole elsewhere. Butchman says people were talking and told the park that he’s a drinker, and we got this wonderful quote- “I’m no juice head. I like cocaine and marijuana. That’s my drugs of choice!” He mentions going to his address in Detroit- because that’s such a good place to keep clean. When Tyler tells Catelynn she seems preoccupied with cleaning their cabinets with Windex, and also happy he’s not their issue anymore.

Maci-
Bentley is 2 ½, time for preschool! As in the episodes prior, when Maci struggled with taking him to daycare- preschool was a big deal. She wanted Bentley to go and get ready for Kindergarten. They visit a school, at first Bentley is freaking out and trying to squirm away from the teacher. He pouts in front of his snack while Maci and Kyle discuss enrollment. By the time they’re done he’s painting away! And adorably says “I’m gonna paint this for momma!” Ryan being Ryan is against preschool when he discusses it with Maci. She was going to take him two days a week and wanted Ryan to take him one day- Ryan wasn’t thrilled it would be a day he has Bentley. Ryan tells Maci he didn’t go to preschool (that’s some great reasoning to make sure Bentley goes, and ASAP) and he doesn’t need to know Spanish… Bentley needs some kid time, he’s always around Maci, Kyle, Ryan, the mimis, etc.. He needs time with kids his age! Maci makes the decision to take him the two days she can and to just let Ryan do whatever the hell it is he does anyway.

Amber-
Amber is still at the spa, I mean rehab. She is antsy to go home after Gary and Leah visited. However, no one thinks 30 days is enough. Gary has to tell her about 50 times to talk to her therapist Jay, which even Leah repeats. On top of the therapist agreeing, Amber got into a fight with someone at rehab and threatened her. So to say the least, I think she may have some lingering anger issues. Amber has a hypnotherapist session, with crystals, awkward creepy uncle touching and some device on her hand. Her hypnotherapist (let’s call him Criss Angel so I don’t have to type that word again) asks her questions, and has her dig really deep emotionally. Criss Angel gets her to pin point her father screaming at her and calling her a bitch, because he’s lashing out that he’s hurt from Amber’s sister passing. Criss Angel tells Amber she can’t continue this pattern and do the same. Amber realizes that the fighting with Gary really messed things up, and decides to stick to rehab for another two weeks. I was really happy to see her make that decision. Even though most of us know that she’s serving 5 years right now- I genuinely think on the anger issue, she’s trying. The pill problem is a whole other demon that’s going to take a different approach. I honestly wish her the best. And I hope in jail she lets her eyebrows grow back in normally.

Nail art tutorial - shark nails!

Hey everyone!! I spent some time last night to work on my nails.
SHARK NAILS!

Finished product- shark nails! Complete with blood drips.

STEPS:

Supplies:
-Blue nail polish
-Gray nail polish
-Red nail polish
-Black or a dark gray polish
-Clear coat
-Detail brush

1. As always clear coat it up! Then put your base blue color on- one to two coats. I went with a nice teal kid of color.

Sephota by OPI.

2. Take your gray and may a triangle, corner to corner. You can use your detailer brush to clean up the point and edges if you need to.

Sally Hansen - Eel

3. Take the red and draw a half circle for the shark's mouth.

4. Use your detailer brush with white polish to make a rim around the red polish. Then make tiny little teeth. Also use the detailer to make little tiny eyes on the shark with your black or darker gray.

I got a little more into this and did blood drips on all the other nails!
I took the red color from above and just dabbed little red dots on my nails. Then I simply connected them.

In the picture below you can see the original dots and how I just painted an extra line. Most simple part of these nails!

I think this technique would look cute on white nails with rainbow drops!

Chevron nailart tutorial

Time for another nail polish fun! This time it's a classy pattern- chevron. I have lots of photos so have fun and follow along!
If you try it out send me the photos- I'd love to post them up!

SUPPLIES:

First you need to get out three polish colors- yes this photo only has two, but I borrowed the red from my little sister. ;] The navy blue is from Ulta, I really like their colors. And the shiny pearl white is just from CVS, it's a bit thicker than most polishes, but it's my absolute favorite white color.

Scotch tape and scissors!

STEPS:

1. Clear coat and then paint your nails with one color. This is going to be the color and the very bottom, so keep that in mind if you're going for a pattern. Let it dry COMPLETELY! It's very important. In fact, I painted mine blue the night before.

2. Get your tape ready! You will need to cut it into little strips and place them in a V shape on your nail, like below.

V shaped tape to keep the blue safe. Don't press the tape down TOO hard, or you'll pull up polish. The edges are the most important.

3. Next up for me was the pearly white color. Just paint the little triangle area that is exposed.

It looks not so pretty now, but trust me!

4. Pleae follow this one carefully- let that second color dry 100%. I put mine in front of a little desk fan for awhile.

5. CAREFULLY remove the tape. Remove one piece at a time, following the angle.

Perfect triangles!

This is a warning-- remember when I  said don't push the tape down TOO hard? This is why. I did and it pulled up the edges. Ugh!

 6. After your second color is 110% dry (mor dry than before), you can tape up the next row and apply another color.

A pretty metalic red is what I went for- Captain America nails!

7. You know the drill by now! Let that color be completely dried, then carefully remove the tape. Also, do more clear coats to seal it all in.

A little bling just for good measures.

This was my first time doing this, so mine aren't perfect, but practice makes perfect! You'll see it once you try, too- as you're doing it you'll realize a better way to remove the tape, or that you should've given the polish a few more drying minutes, etc..

I can't wait to try it again with some crazy, funky colors!

A quick side note- I picked up new nail art brushes and a gemstone set at Sally last night!

Thanks for reading as always loves! And again send me the pictures if you try it out.

Cheetah nail art - tutorial

Hi guys! I wanted to do a little tutorial for getting fierce cheetah nails! It's super simple, and I've included a lot of photos to help out!

Cheetah nails- simplified!

To start out, having one of these is a must! Now this is a fancier one from Ulta, but you could just have a thin paint brush laying around.

Necessary for the cheetah spots- detailer nail brush.
Always start out with a clear coat on your nails. It will help the polish last longer, not stain your nails, and one like this strengthens your nails.

Sally Hansen - Diamond Strength clear coat.

Next up is your base color- whatever you want to use! I did two to three of this pink from Sephora.

Sephora by Opi.

Use a second color and your brush to make spots. Sort of like cow spots.

Cheetah spots beginning!

Select another color to use as the spot highlights.

Another Sephora by OPI.

Your last step is to take the brush again (clean it off with polish remover and a cotton ball), dip it in your new color. Then just make little markings around your first spot color.
I found that it helps to look at a cheetah pattern-- like a purse or shirt. You can mimic the markings.

Voila!
Don't forget to let these dry completely and do a clear coat on top!

My life - overload

Wow I have slacked majorly on updating this blog. And I apologize for that. I wish I could begin to explain and properly convey what all has been going on in my life!
Happily busy.

I really do promise to stay busy with my blog more now.

Hopefully, this little post suffices as a bit of a recap of the past, oh...month or so!

We recently decided to get into the spring mode and decorated the balcony. The planter boxes were only a couple dollars at Target, and they zip tied on. Which, for us, was really good because we wouldn't want to drill into the railing on anything. The little solar lights were only $1 at Target as well, we did a pretty good job on a budget!

Staggered blue and green planter boxes with cute pansies.

The pretty pansies that seem to love the balcony!

Any one close to me I'm sure knows I love my hair. I've gona through a lot of different reds, and a few assorted additional colors. And I don't plan on going away from the red family, just like I never planned on any sort of cutting of my hair.
I hate getting my hair cut. I have a dream on long mermaid (read as: Ariel) hair. It's also been years since I let anyone but myself cut my bangs...That changed!

I took the plunge, and had my hair dresser chop my bangs. I really do love them, it's just very different still.

Apparently this makes me look more mature and adult like.

This is very random, but I am working on restoring this beautiful vintage train case Josh and I found at a local flea market. It was a steal, $6! I've redone the bottomliner of it because a previous owner had spilled something in it. I'll be transforming it into a cash box of sorts.

Vintage train case!

I've been working on fancier nails lateley! My most recent haul at Ulta was probably one of the bests yet!

Seeing as I'm obsessed with the Hunger Games (also Peeta), I was so excited to see the display for the China Glaze Hunger Games edition polishes!
I picked up Dress Me Up and Luxe & Lush. I'm sure I'm bound to pick up some more in the near future (anyone see the green and orange colors?!).

China Glaze - The Hunger Games - Dress Me Up and Luxe & Lush

Obviously I am channeling Katniss!

And then I added a little more flair that's more Jen-- Cheetah nails!

If you want to do cheetah nails, get one of these detailer brushes at Ulta! I will work on a tutorial for the cheetah print for everyone soon!

This Easter weekend was fantastic. Josh and I got to spend so much time with one another and our families. Saturday we headed up to the Poconos to visist my grama.
When we arrived, as usual there was a feast out! She makes enough food for an army! On Easter Sunday we exchanged our Easter baskets to one another- I cant even tell you how much candy we have in the house now! Later in the night we went to Josh's mom's new house for Easter dinner. Everything was great there as well!

Easter cupcakes I made to bring up to my grama's-- the birds nests on top are chow mein noodles covered in chocolate!

My parents spoiled me a little bit!

You'd swear Josh and my mom planned this! The clutch Josh got me matches perfect.

A little news on my cupcakes!
I am officially LLC'd. Hello Cupcakes!, LLC

I have even done my first order of cupcakes- wedding shower cupcakes. They came out very cute,
Currently Josh is working on a website for me for all the cupcakes. I also have plans for flea markets and such to sell these treats!
Everything is getting so exciting with this little business. I have big dreams of a bakery one day, we'll see.

Fancy business cards!
In the process of this being a label for the bakery boxes!
